The Committee on Teaching is pleased to announce that it has selected five recipients of the Distinguished Teaching Award for 2004: F. Michael Christ, Professor, Mathematics; Hubert L. Dreyfus, Professor of Philosophy in the Graduate School; H. Mack Horton, Professor and Chair, East Asian Languages and Cultures; Bob Jacobsen, Associate Professor, Physics; Linda Williams, Professor of Film Studies and Rhetoric and Director of the Program in Film Studies.

The award, given annually by the Committee on Teaching of the Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate since 1959, recognizes excellence in teaching at the University of California, Berkeley. The recipients of the Distinguished Teaching Award were honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, April 27 in Zellerbach Playhouse.
