Evaluating AI Scenarios

In this assignment, students worked in small groups to discuss course-specific AI scenarios. For each scenario, they considered whether the AI use supported their learning and whether it was being used to save time or to deepen understanding.

Brief Summary of AssignmentStudents evaluate course-specific AI scenarios in small groups. For each scenario, they discuss two questions: (1) Is this use of AI helpful for your learning in the class? Please explain why; and (2) What are the reasons for using AI that way? Is it just a shortcut to save time, or would this help enhance your learning? The different scenarios are tailored to the course and could include situations such as having AI summarize a difficult reading, asking AI to generate ideas for an essay, or prompting AI to locate quotes or evidence. The activity ends with a whole class discussion.
