Distinguished Teaching Award

The Center for Teaching and Learning supports the Committee on Teaching's efforts in recognizing excellent faculty with the Berkeley campus' most prestigious award for teaching through this program. It was initiated in 1959 to encourage and reward excellence in teaching on the Berkeley campus.

The Provost's Thriving in Teaching: A Mentorship Program for Racial Equity in Teaching

Thriving in Teaching aims to bring together like-minded educators to cultivate a community of support, care, and rigor for practicing racial equity in teaching.Participating faculty can expect to practice with storytelling, somatic expression, and arts-based learning techniques to express their journey to teaching and to deepen their understanding of and relationship with racial equity teaching.

Teaching Excellence Colloquium

The Teaching Excellence Colloquium is designed to provide Senate faculty new to Berkeley with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to advance their teaching skill set and promote meaningful learning experiences for their students. Participating faculty also become part of a cohort of peer educators across many disciplines.

Online Course Development Training

The online course development training is an entirely asynchronous online bCourses site that any faculty or staff member can join at any time. While it is designed primarily for instructors developing a fully online course for the Summer Sessions, it can be used by any instructor to help them with developing a course map and instructional materials for mixed modality or in-person environments.

Lecturer Teaching Fellows

Lecturers at Berkeley are offered an exceptional opportunity through this program to meet regularly with colleagues from across campus to discuss teaching issues. Ten Lecturers are selected annually to participate in a series of workshops focused on teaching and learning.
