This program empowers selected faculty fellows (both Senate and non-Senate) to design and conduct a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning project in collaboration with CTL staff, in order to better understand and advance undergraduate education. Individual fellows may receive grants of up to $10,000 per year for two years.

To help departments meet the requirements of the recent update to Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in advance of the revised April 2027 due date, Research, Teaching, & Learning (RTL) is offering enhanced digital accessibility support for instructors of highly-impacted courses.

Thriving in Teaching aims to bring together like-minded educators to cultivate a community of support, care, and rigor for practicing racial equity in teaching.Participating faculty can expect to practice with storytelling, somatic expression, and arts-based learning techniques to express their journey to teaching and to deepen their understanding of and relationship with racial equity teaching.

The Teaching Excellence Colloquium is designed to provide Senate faculty new to Berkeley with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to advance their teaching skill set and promote meaningful learning experiences for their students. Participating faculty also become part of a cohort of peer educators across many disciplines.

Lecturers at Berkeley are offered an exceptional opportunity through this program to meet regularly with colleagues from across campus to discuss teaching issues. Ten Lecturers are selected annually to participate in a series of workshops focused on teaching and learning.

This Disability Access Faculty Learning Community (FLC) will provide space for dynamic pedagogical practices and discussions that center disability in our teaching for senate and non-senate faculty. The Active Learning Classroom Special Interest Group (ALC SIG) will bring together current and former ALC instructors for monthly conversations with a CTL consultant throughout Fall 2026. Discussions will explore how these distinctive classroom spaces have opened new possibilities for teaching — and where they have posed challenges for instructors and students alike.

The Center for Teaching and Learning supports the Committee on Teaching's efforts in recognizing excellent faculty with the Berkeley campus' most prestigious award for teaching through this program. It was initiated in 1959 to encourage and reward excellence in teaching on the Berkeley campus.

This faculty course is designed to raise awareness of potential inequities both faculty and students face when engaged in the process of teaching and learning.

This program aims to provide faculty with clear, specific guidance on what a quality online or hybridized course experience looks like and create a space where they can explore a variety of approaches to designing a partially or fully online course for undergraduates at Berkeley.
