Overview
Whether you are designing a brand-new course, experimenting with classroom strategies, or rethinking how you assess student learning, a one-on-one consultation with a CTL consultant can be an opportunity to discuss your ideas in a non-evaluative, personal setting. This is a collaborative space designed to support you and your thinking about teaching.
Instructors can schedule a consultation to explore teaching topics, such as:
- Course Design: Crafting aligned learning outcomes, building inclusive syllabi, or structuring and designing course modules.
- Classroom Facilitation: Navigating active learning strategies, managing classroom dynamics, engaging diverse student populations, and fostering meaningful discussions.
- Assessment and Feedback: Designing authentic assessments, creating transparent rubrics, managing grading workloads, and interpreting student feedback.
To ensure a genuinely supportive and low-stakes environment, all consultations are completely confidential and formative in their approach. They are also available to anyone on-campus as a common good service, regardless of your department or role.
