Presenters: R. Gustav Steinhardt, Lecturer, Anthropology; Kayla Chalabi, Undergraduate Student, Psychology; Eliana Madera, Undergraduate Student, Anthropology
Session Descriptions: During AY 24-25, the anthropology department offered an interdisciplinary seminar, Diversities of the Human Brain, that juxtaposed readings in the neurodiversity studies literature with a crash course in the structure and function of the human brain. Equipped with both a neurobiological and a sociohistorical lens for thinking about neurodiversity, students then pursued independent research projects and led discussions on their topics. This presentation is co-authored with two students from Diversities of the Human Brain. Following a brief summary by the instructor of course structure, pedagogical decisions, and student projects, the student co-authors will discuss their perspectives on this interdisciplinary experience.
